Provide the Right Light and Temperature

Fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, peppers and aubergines need at least 6 hours of light every day. And they don't prefer high-temperature locations.

If you live in a warm area, cover your plants with black mesh to reduce light intensity, so the plants don’t get too stressed.

Choose The Perfect Container

Choose a large enough container size. The more soil you can load, the better. Also, pay attention to the material type of the containers, the drainage holes available, and if possible, avoid black containers with the size of less than 30 cm in diameter.

Consistent Watering Schedule

Most vegetable crops require a lot of water in order to produce fresh and crunchy vegetables. To achieve that, please pay close attention to your watering schedule. The key is to keep the soil moist and saturated, not flooded.

Choosing Seeds or Seedlings

Each has advantages and disadvantages. Growing plants from seeds is certainly cheaper, but not everyone can be successful at it. It needs 12-16 hours of light per day and good air circulation.

In addition, you must also maintain the humidity on your seedlings area, and do not let the soil dry out or get too hot. Also, if the air is too wet it probably can kill the seeds.

Feeding Your Plants

Like humans, plants need nutrition to thrive, and their food is fertiliser. If your soil doesn’t contain fertiliser, you can add some several times throughout the growing season. In addition, manure and compost are the new gardeners’ favourites.

And also, always pay attention to the plants’ conditions from time to time. Add fertiliser according to the stages of plant growth and to their needs.

Use Quality Potting Soil

To grow vegetables, quality soil is a must. It should be loose, rich in organic matter, and be able to hold moisture well. And please, do not use soil that is taken from your garden, since you might be importing problems into your containers.
