Episode 5: Roses of Valentine Cut roses are picked while still buds Roses’ fates are a bit sad, since they were cut when they’re still in buds from a very far place, to prevent wilting. Why? The time it takes from when farmers harvest them until they were displayed in a supermarket or a florist is pretty long; even up to a week. And that’s why their blooming lifespan is pretty short.
